This website presents research conducted by Edward (Ted) Elliott Dawson (1928 - 1983) in the 1970's, into his patrilineal ancestry. The geneology is centered on his great-grandfather, the well-known Sir John William Dawson, of McGill University, Montreal, Canada. Of particular interest is the establishment of the Scottish Link: Sir John's father, James emigrated from Aberdeenshire, Scotland, in the early nineteenth century.
