This document was a primary reference for E.E.Dawson, William Bell Dawson's grandson, in his genealogical research. It is a work of great draftsmanship; however it does contain some inaccuracies and conjecture, and has no dates at all

William himself is to be found near the bottom of the chart, around the middle of the page (siblings Anna, Rankine & Eva); the chart was apparently compiled before his marriage and the birth of his own children

Interestingly, the chart shows that his father's maternal grandfather and his mother's maternal grandmother were siblings i.e. he married his second cousin. The chart also shows an instance of the marriage of first cousins.
